Going into last night’s game against the Detroit Fighting Irish, Jared Fisher of the Fort Wayne Spacemen was two goals away from tying the USPHL’s record for goals scored in a single season.
He got four, three of them coming in the second period, as Fort Wayne overwhelmed Detroit 13-1 at the SportOne Parkview Ice House. The Spacemen bench emptied after Fisher, now with 49 goals and 44 assists on the season, set the new record on a night where Fort Wayne’s offense was on show for all to see.
