The Fort Wayne Spacemen faced the Chicago Crush for their first game of the 2022-2023 season. The Fort Wayne Spacemen started the season off strong with a 10-0 victory over the Chicago Crush.

The first period started off with a battle between both teams. Up until six minutes left in the first no one scored.

In Danylo Shpak’s first ever game as a Fort Wayne Spacemen he scored two goals at the 14:04 and 15:13 of the first period. This put the Fort Wayne Spacemen up 2-0 at the end the first period.

The Fort Wayne Spacemen started the second period off very strong. Throughout 20 minutes of play during the second period The Fort Wayne Spacemen scored six times.

Antoine Fournier came into the second period scoring at 1:20 in the second period for the Fort Wayne Spacemen. 60 seconds after Fournier’s goal RJ Rollman picks up his first goal as Spacemen.

Grigory Koryazhin scored his first goal as Spacemen to put the Spacemen up 5-0.

Returning player Noah Maine scored two goals back-to-back in the second period to continue to the Spacemen’s strong second period. Sam Tetreault gets the last goal of the second to period to make the Spacemen’s lead 8-0.

Maine scored his first hat trick of the 2022-2023 season at 2:08 in the third period. Tucker Tone got his first goal as a Spacemen putting the lead 10-0.

Bryce Dunnigan was between the pipes for the Spacemen capturing 18 saves throughout three periods and getting the shutout.

The outcome of the game was largely determined by the Spacemen leading in shots on goal by 47 compared to Chicago Crushes’ 18 shots.
