October 9, 2022 Fort Wayne Spacemen vs Chicago Cougars

The Fort Wayne Spacemen finished the two game weekend series vs. the Chicago Cougars on October 9th. After Saturday night’s close game between both teams the Fort Wayne Spacemen looked to finish the weekend getting the win in both games.

Ido Steinberg got his first start in net as a Spacemen. Chicago Cougars picked up the first goal of the night.

RJ Rollman scored the first goal for the Fort Wayne Spacemen at 3:00 in the first period. Logan Robins scored three minutes later making the score 2-1.

Chicago Cougars had a quick response scoring a minute later and tying the game 2-2. Neither team scores for nine more minutes in the first period.

Antoine Fournier scores a goal at 16:44. Fournier’s goal put the Spacemen up 3-2.

Noah Maine scores his first goal of the game at 16:16. Maine didn’t think one goal was enough and scored 36 seconds later.

The Fort Wayne Spacemen were ahead 5-2 at the end of the first period. Spacemen lead shots on goal 15-11 during the first period.

The second period started off strong for the Chicago Cougars. Cougars tallied three goals making the score tied 5-5.

Fournier captured his second goal of the game at 18:50. Fournier’s goal late in the second period put the Spacemen up 6-5.

Steinberg was in net for the Spacemen during the first and second period. He captured 20 total saves.

Nick Reed was in the net for the first time ever as a Spacemen for the third period. The Fort Wayne Spacemen were put on multiple power plays during the third period.

Both teams did not score a goal in the third period. The final score was 6-5.

Nick Reed had ten saves in 20 minutes of play during the third period.

The Fort Wayne Spacemen got the weekend sweep of the Chicago Cougars. The Fort Wayne Spacemen’s record is now 3-0!
