January 6, 2023 Fort Wayne Spacemen vs Jersey Hitmen

The Fort Wayne Spacemen had their second game of the Tampa Showcase on Friday Morning. Puck drop was at 10:00am EST against the Jersey Hitmen.

The Spacemen’s season record is 21-6-0-0. The Jersey Hitmen’s season record is 4-26-0-0.

Grigory Koryazhin scores the first goal for the Spacemen. Koryazhin’s goal was scored at 4:29 in the first period giving the Spacemen the lead 1-0.

Koryazhin’s goal was the only goal of the first period. The Spacemen end the the first period with a 1-0 lead!

The Jersey Hitmen get their goal during the second period. The Jersey Hitmen goal at 14:58 in the second period ties the game 1-1.

Noah Maine scores a shorthanded goal for the Spacemen at 18:03 in the second. Maine’s goal gives the Spacemen a 2-1 lead to end the second period!

The Jersey Hitmen score their second of the game in the third period. The Jersey Hitmen’s goal at 14:18 in the third period ties the game 2-2.

The Spacemen were given a 5-3-man advantage but could not score. Neither team scored in the third period to break the tie, so we go into OT!

After many shots for both in overtime neither team scored. As the score remained 2-2 the game goes into a shootout!

The Jersey Hitmen’s third shooter did not score. Grigory Koryazhin is the third shooter for the Spacemen, and he scored for the Spacemen!

The Jersey Hitmen’s fourth shooter did score. Kyle Remo is the fourth shooter for the Spacemen, and he did not score.

The Jersey Hitmen capture the win in a shootout defeating the Spacemen 3-2. Bryce Dunnigan captured 18 saves throughout three periods of play for the Spacemen.
