January 7, 2023 Fort Wayne Spacemen vs Nashville Spartans

The Fort Wayne Spacemen have their final game of the Tampa Showcase. The Spacemen face the Nashville Spartans at 10:00am EST at Advent Health Center Ice Rink.

Bryce Dunnigan gets the start in net for the Spacemen. The Spacemen are 22-6-0-1 in their season record while the Nashville Spartans are 19-12-2-0.

The Nashville Spartans score the first goal of the game at 4:31 in the first period. The Spartans goal gives them an early 1-0 lead.

The Spacemen couldn’t get one on the board in the first period. The Spartans lead 1-0 at the end of the first period.

The Spartans score at 12:43 in the second period. This extended their lead to 2-0.

Thomas Turgeon scores for the Spacemen on a powerplay at 16:57 in the second period. Turgeon’s goal makes the score 2-1 in favor of the Spacemen.

Logan Robins scores for the Spacemen at 17:47 in the second period. Robin’s goal ties the game 2-2 to end the second period!

Noah Maine scores a shorthanded goal for the Spacemen at 8:35 in the third period. Maine’s goal gave the Spacemen a 3-2 lead in the third period!

The Nashville Spartans score at 19:10 in the third period. The Spartans goal makes the game tied 3-3 and sends the game into overtime.

Turgeon gets a penalty for slashing which puts the Spartans on a powerplay in overtime. The Spartans execute and score in overtime giving them the win 4-3.

Dunnigan captured 35 saves throughout three periods of play and overtime. The Spacemen are home next weekend for the Don Kidd Memorial Games!
