Saturday January 14th was the second game of the Don Kidd Memorial games against the Chicago Crush

Saturday’s game was spent honoring the Kidd family and former coworkers of the Kidd family.

January 14, 2023 Fort Wayne Spacemen vs Chicago Crush

Saturday January 14th was the second game of the Don Kidd Memorial games against the Chicago Crush. The Don Kidd Memorial games are to honor Don Kidd, a billet father of the Fort Wayne Spacemen who passed away in September.

Saturday’s game was spent honoring the Kidd family and former coworkers of the Kidd family. The ceremonial puck drop on Saturday was with a former detective and an Indiana National guard member who both previously worked with Kidd.

Kyle Remo started off the scoring for the Spacemen at 1:35 in the first period. Remo’s goal gave the Spacemen a 1-0 lead to the end the first period.

The Chicago Crush scored their first of the game at 3:13 in the second period to tie the game 1-1. The Crush score just 11 seconds later to take the lead 2-1.

Logan Robins scores at 12:49 in the second period to tie the game 2-2. Noah Takitani scored at 18:55 in the second period to give the Spacemen a 3-2 lead to end the second period.

The Crush score their third of the game at 8:11 in the third period to tie the game 3-3. Cameron Perry scored at 14:23 to give the Spacemen a 4-3 lead late in the third period.

Robins scored his second of the game at 18:00 in the third period. Robin’s goal gave the Spacemen a 5-3 lead to win the game!

Aiden Orlikowski captured 16 saves throughout the first period and Bryce Dunnigan captured 26 saves throughout the second and third period.

The Spacemen end the Don Kidd Memorial Games winning both of the games dedicated to Kidd! The Spacemen’s next game is Sunday at 12:30pm EST!
