The Spacemen Elite kicked off today’s doubleheader with a tough 8–2 loss to the division-leading Chicago Crush. The Crush set the tone early, capitalizing on a pair of defensive breakdowns to jump ahead in the opening period. Space Elite pushed back with steady zone pressure, but the Crush continued to generate high-quality chances in transition.
Alexander Roth got the Spacemen on the board with a strong finish midway through the second period, briefly tightening the momentum. However, Chicago answered quickly, fueled by an explosive performance from Joseph Bledsoe, who delivered four goals and created problems in the Spacemen zone all afternoon.
David Tanabe added Space Elite’s second goal late in the third, but by then the deficit was too large to overcome. Despite flashes of solid puck movement and a few extended shifts in the offensive end, the Spacemen struggled to contain the Crush attack and couldn’t convert on key opportunities.
With the win, Chicago Crush Elite maintained their position at the top of the division. The Spacemen Elite will look to regroup and come out stronger in Game 2 of the doubleheader later today.
