Chicago Cougars Elite earned a strong win over the Spacemen Elite to open showcase play. Nathan Galvan got the Cougars on the board first, setting the tone early. Chicago leaned heavily on the stellar play of goaltender Michael Poulik, who turned away 37 of 39 shots and was a key factor throughout the game.

Cameron Wells scored the first goal for Space, helping keep the Spacemen within reach, but Chicago controlled key moments and maintained pressure as the game went on. Both teams showed plenty of intensity with it being the first matchup of the showcase, but the Cougars’ steady goaltending and timely scoring ultimately made the difference.
