On the final day of the Chicago Showcase, the Decatur Blaze closed out their weekend with a 7–2 victory over Spacemen Elite. Decatur set the pace early and maintained control throughout the contest, capitalizing on key opportunities to pull away on the scoreboard.
Spacemen Elite found the net twice despite the loss, getting a power-play goal from Nicolas Cheeney and a shorthanded tally from Colsen White. While the special teams goals provided brief momentum swings, the Blaze offense proved too strong on the day.
Sasha Zarichnyy led the way for Decatur and was named Player of the Game after recording two goals and one assist in the win. His performance helped seal the Blaze’s impressive finish to the showcase.
Spacemen Elite will now turn their attention back home as they prepare for a two-game series against the T-Rex next weekend.
